Do you know about all the amazing festivals in China? Here are some cool facts you can share:
- The moon festival (also called mid-autumn festival) celebrates family reunions and pays tribute to the harvest gods. People sit around eating bean filled sweet pastries called mooncakes! Now that’s interesting.
- The Dragon Boat festival (which happens around June) is celebrated to remember Qu Yuan, a scholar who lived during the Chu Kingdom’s reign back in 278 BC. People celebrate by participating in boat races all across the country!
- Another gorgeous event is the Lantern Festival, a celebration to overpower darkness with hope for the coming year. Almost all lanterns are red in color because red is considered lucky in China.
