Do you think you have experienced stress in these uncertain times during covid and continuous lockdowns? Stress is something that all of us feel. When you feel worried or uncomfortable about something, that’s stress. You might feel sad, anxious, angry or frustrated when you are stressed. Stress also affects your body in the form of body pain like headache, stomachache, fever etc.
Stress is not always negative. It can be positive as well. Positive stress is called Eustress. It motivates us to work hard. For example, the stress that you feel while speaking in front of your class might motivate you to do better.
Stress becomes unhealthy when it is experienced for a longer time. For example, when you’re overly worried about anything that happened at school or when your parents are fighting, that can cause stress and it can also make you sick.
Here are some things you can do when you notice experiencing stress.
- Deep breathing
- Talk to an adult whom you trust
- Write/journal about it
- Drink some water
- Try to observe 2 things that you can see, hear, smell, feel and taste.
