Siddhant’s fitness journey
Siddhant was a very lazy child. Even waking up early and going to school was a very big task for him. Due to his laziness, he used to not complete his work on time and avoided going to play outside. Siddhant was getting overweight due to his unhealthy lifestyle. He was encountering a lot of problems because of being overweight and thus was getting a lot of stress.
Looking at his condition, his parents were very concerned about his health. They decided to take him to a doctor to check his condition. The doctor, after examining Siddhant, said that he needed to be active in order to lose weight and be fit and healthy. The doctor suggested that Siddhant should play some sports to get physically fit. Even after this suggestion from the doctor, Siddhant was avoiding going out to play as he had no interest in any sport. Seeing this, his parents thought of calling a trainer to teach some exercises to Siddhant. The trainer came and started teaching Siddhant various exercises. Initially, he was interested to exercise but eventually, he got bored of it. Though Siddhant was showing a lot of improvements through exercising, it became a chore for him due to his lack of interest.
Siddhant started avoiding exercising by giving excuses of being tired and having pain. Observing this, the trainer asked Siddhant why he was disinterested in exercising. Sidhhant replied that exercising was very exhausting for him and he felt a lack of energy after exercising. Listening to Siddhant, his trainer thought of making him try something new. He asked him whether he want to try yoga, it was not as exhaustive as exercising and could help him stay physically fit. Siddhant thought of giving it a try to see whether he liked it or not. The trainer started teaching him various yogasanas that were easy for him to perform. His trainer even taught him various breathing exercises and meditation. After the session ended, Siddhant felt very relaxed and not much exhausted. Slowly, he found that he liked doing yoga and he started doing it on a regular basis, he even started to learn new and complex asanas. Yoga was helping him to be both physically and mentally fit, by helping him to get fit and by relieving his stress.
What did we learn
Being fit and active is very important for our physical and mental health. We should try to adopt some sort of physical activity like playing sports, exercising, doing yoga, etc. anything that suits us to live an active lifestyle.
