Matilda Wormwood is a young girl with telekinesis! (the power to move things using one’s mind). This famous character was built by Roald Dahl, a famous fiction author for children’s books.
- Did you know that Matilda started reading books and studying newspapers at the age of 3? Her love for books has grown ever since.
- For small girl, Matilda was very independent and always stood for justice. She stood up against her school’s headmistress Miss Trunchbull, a mean and scary principal who punished children for no reason.
- Matilda did not have a supportive family–this pushed her to be extremely independent: At the age of around 5, she would walk around town alone to get books from the library and visit her teacher!
